Orono Thunder U10 Gold Boys Earn MYSA OATHS Award

12/05/2011, 10:32am (CST)
By Club

Fall U10 Orono Thunder Boys Gold team coached by Dave Ericson and Richard DiPrima has been named the MYSA U10 Gold Boys OATHS (Outstanding Ambassadors of Teams Honoring Sportsmanship) Award winner for the fall 2011 season.  This award is to distinguish athletes, coaches and fans for their dedication to good sportsmanship.

The OATHS evaluation is included on every match report and the referees are asked to complete the evaluation of each team’s players, coaches and fans.  They look to see that players are playing within the rules and spirit of the game.  The coaches are also evaluated to make sure all players and officials are treated with respect.  The fans are expected to support all players, coaches, and referees in a positive manner.

The responses are tabulated throughout the season to determine the OATHS winners.  MYSA then presents this award to only one boys team and one girls team at each age level from the entire state of MN.  The 2011 recipients can be found on the MYSA website under Programs (OATHS).
